Fly Fishing Book Club & Discussion Group

Dates: Fall 2024

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Location: ZOOM - Program is FREE - Limited Enrollment

Fly fishing is a source of deep self-examination and renewal, both on and off the water. On the stream, it is a multifaceted learning and problem-solving experience that employs a range of skills for enjoyable and productive fishing. Off the stream, many of the same skills and lessons also serve another, perhaps even higher purpose. Fly fishing can help us understand, respect, and repair a broken world, find common ground, and inspire hope in disorienting and divisive times.

We will explore this theme through discussion of selected readings, primarily from the literature of fly fishing, that inform the choices we make about each other, our environment, how we want to live, and who we want to be. This program is for anyone, angler or not, who thinks about fly fishing and the great outdoors as a source of wisdom, hope, and perhaps, even common ground, at a time when we need these more than ever. All readings distributed online.
