2015 Wildwood Concert Series

Old Iron Works Days

Take a trip to the 1800s at this year’s Old Iron Works Days, held from 12-5pm on October 12 and 13 at Maramec Spring Park. Fly Fishing 101: September 26 & November 14

From equipment selection and knot tying to casting and stream entomology, this class is the perfect opportunity for beginners to tackle the fundamentals of fly fishing!

Cold Water Fly Tying: October 10

Learn the basics of fly tying at this cold water tying class – including several flies patterns which can be used on Missouri’s streams!

Trout Unlimited Kids Fishing Day: October 10

Join us for Gateway Trout Unlimited’s kids fishing day at Westover! The event – which is open to children 6 and up – will include casting instruction, bug life, games and more!

Fall Fly Fishing at Westover

As the temperatures drop and the leaves begin to change, fall fly fishing at Westover has officially arrived! Before you hit the streams and cast those reels, consider the following fall fly fishing tips and tricks:

  • Water levels: low and crystal clear
  • Best nymphs: grey scuds, white jigs, white leeches, prince nymphs and tricos
  • Best dry fly fishing: entrance points on Dry Creek
  • Best flies: #14 caddis, #18 black and tan caddis, Griffiths Gnat, Beetles or Ants
