Dry Creek Center Almost Finished- Feb Newsletter

We hope the New Year has been treating you well! We have enjoyed seeing the die-hard fisherman on those 5 degree days and the larger groups of people wetting a line on the 60 degree days. Even though we prefer the warmer weather, the colder weather tends to bring the much needed rain which we are so desperate for. We did get 2 inches of rain a couple of weeks ago. We are still waiting for several days of a good soaking rain….or snow!

We are really excited for the completion of Dry Creek Center and the Branch. A lot of hard work has gone into getting these buildings completed. Dry Creek Center will be the perfect venue for corporate retreats, family reunions, and weddings. The Branch will be a hotel style building with handicap accessible king and queen bedrooms. Many of you have requested rooms with 2 queen beds, and the Branch will have 2 separate rooms that will fulfill that requirement.

We’ve added a couple of Fly Fishing 101 classes. The first one will be this spring on April 21 and the second on September 8. The cost is $250 per person or $400 for 2 people. Click here for more information.

Finally, we haven’t raised any of our prices since 2008 and will be increasing our daily fishing and some of the lodging prices beginning March 1, 2018. The half day of fishing, (4 hours or less of fishing) will go from $37.00 to $40.00 and a full day of fishing will go from $54.00 to $55.00. Some of the houses will increase $25.00 per night. However, if you Book Now, (before March 1, 2018), you can lock in the old rate by making your reservation before March 1, 2018. Please let us know if you have any questions, we’re glad to help.

Lodging Availability

The Stone House is available the weekend of February 16-17, 2018. This is the weekend of Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, and the 100 Acre Road Rally Race. For those of you that made 2018 reservations in 2017, we will be contacting you soon to secure your deposit. We look forward to talking with you soon!

Holiday Gift Certificates – December Newsletter

We hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. Westover is beginning to look very festive with wreathes and lights sprinkled throughout the property. Now that the temperatures have dropped, it’s starting to feel like winter. Remember that Westover is open all year long, so if you don’t mind chipping the ice off the tip of your rod, we would love to see you. The water stays a consistent temperature (around 52 degrees) and never freezes. We hope you can make it down over your holiday break.

During the winter months (December – February) we do not enforce the 2 night minimum on the weekends. So, let us know or book on-line the best day of the week that works for you. We have several openings over the next couple of weeks too. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Purchasing the 2018 Frequent Fisherman Membership would be an excellent gift for the special fisher person in your life. It pays for itself in just 6 “day trip” fishing trips to Westover. Members can also enjoy 10% off their overnight stay at Westover. If you would rather purchase a day of fishing or just designate a certain amount of money, you can customize a gift certificate. You can purchase gift certificates on-line or call us at 573-743-6284 and we’ll create a certificate for you. Just let us know, we are glad to help.

Water levels are still low and clear. Light line, 6X or smaller, and nymphs or streamers should work best. Moving around and changing up the patterns has proven to be the most successful.

The fish don’t seem to be hungrier at any certain time of day, so you can really pick and choose what works best for you. We look forward to hearing what works best for you!

Dry Creek at Westover Farms

Water levels are low and clear. In the last several weeks we’ve only gotten about an inch of rain. Fishing is still tough because the fish can see your every move. However, people are catching fish. We recommend using the olive zebra midge, streamers, and egg patterns with light tippet. Let us know what works best for you. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
